Invitations, Party Hats, Favor bags
Invitations-Create your invitations on your computer using great Oz images from the internet. Grab them from my page or the many Oz pages out their. Send them a Doctrine of Thinkology inviting them to your party. Roll it up and wrap it in a pretty ribbon.

Party Hats-Go to your local Auto parts store and pick up cheap funnels. Paint them silver, put small holes in each side and string them with elastic.

Favor bags-Use little baskets stuff them with favors.

Partygoer
Use rainbow colors for your plates, napkins, cups, silverware, etc. This should keep down on the cost and is much easier to find in stores than say "Wizard Of Oz" plates and such. Mix and match them it will make for a very colorful table.

Tablecloths
Make your own Yellow Brick Road tablecloth, buy a yellow table cloth and draw in your bricks the kids will have fun helping you with this. You could use a paper table cloth or a cotton. You can find the perfect pens at your nearest craft store or drugstore.

Another idea for a tablecloth that I think would be real pretty is a blue and white gingham tablecloth. I'm sure you can find the material at your nearest fabric store. You could sew it fancy or just have it cut to fit your table you will probably only use it for your party. It doesn't have to be fancy. With all your rainbow colored plates and such it will be perfect.

Centerpieces
Decorate your table with your Oz treasures if you trust the children's little hands, I'm sure you have some non breakables in your collection. An Oz centerpiece would be very nice use your imagination. Maybe a basket with ToTo and flowers in it. Or a rainbow centerpiece. You could do so many things with the centerpiece I can't even list them all.

Place mats
Use plain white place mats found at your local party store and decorate them with an Oz theme. Use images off the internet. Draw rainbows, use pictures. Make a great image on your computer and run them off and glue them on your place mats.

Use yellow place mats and with black or brown marker draw on your yellow brick road.

Food
Heart shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Use a heart shaped cookie cutter or any cookie cutter that will go with an Oz theme...maybe a witch you get the idea.
make your sandwiches and cut them out kids love peanut butter and jelly.

Heart shaped sugar cookies. Maybe the kids at the party could decorate them for an activity. They love to get messy.

A big bowl of apples would be a nice touch. Caramel apples too.

Make a witches brew cider in a big punch bowl.

"Wizard Of Oz" Birthday Cake, check at your local bakery to see what they can come up with for you. Decorate it yourself, test your creativity.

Ice-cream of course. Rainbow colors maybe.

Games and Activities
Face Paints- I buy mine from Walmart. They are under 3.00 and work great. Look in the craft section they always carry them. Paint rainbows, hearts, ruby slippers, etc. if your real artistic you could try characters.

Pin the Tail on the Lion

Freeze Game, use the Oz music and the kids dance when someone shuts of the music they have to freeze, if they move, they are out. Last one alive is the winner.

Rainbow or Witch Pinata....you can find these at your local party store or at Toys R Us.

Party Favors
Small Doctrines of Thinkology-make them on your computer, make spots for them to fill in their names and other information you can think of. Thank them for attending and for the gift. That way if you don't get around to sending your thank you cards. You thanked them. Roll them up and use a pretty ribbon to wrap them in.

Heart erasers found at your local Dollar store or party store. There are many different erasers find some that go with your theme.

Blue hair ribbons for the little girls.

Badges of Courage

Wicked Witch pencil tops. Paint eraser tops black or buy black ones. Small round pieces of black felt with donut holes. Push the eraser through the hole and glue. Or.....Black felt circles and cut black felt to make the cone for the top of the hat and glue...than glue onto pencil.

Glinda Magic Wand Pencil Tops-Glue on the top of the pencil small silver stars...make them yourself or check your craft or party store for small stars to paint or they may already be gold or silver. Use small ribbons too.

Rainbow pencil or fun colored pencils.

Glinda Wands-Check your Dollar store or make them yourself.

"Wizard of Oz" tshirts-Try the Hanes Tshirt Maker program. You can make lots of fun stuff with this program.

Jewelry-Find little baby shoes or slippers at your local craft or party store. You will find them in the baby shower area or wedding area. Paint them red and glitter them. String them, glue them on tops of pencils. You'll find something to do with them.
