It feels like I've loved this man all my life, so I can't remember when I first noticed him. I know that when Jimmy Conway entered the room in Goodfellas, I was smiling from ear to ear, just like I was happy and proud to see my old friend--he was so SMOOTH! And in Casino, when he asked Ginger to marry him, I sat in the theater (I went alone) and when she hesitated, I couldn't contain myself--I said out loud: "I'll marry you, Ace!!!" It was great. I wanted Max Cady to live forever! I would have dated Travis Bickle!!! And I fell in love right along with Meryl Streep and Jane Fonda...I've raised my son on DeNiro. I feel that he was very unlucky not to win the academy award for best actor for his role in The Deer Hunter, a peformance De Niro himself described as one of if not his very best! I can remember the first time I saw De Niro in a movie, I was very young and I have loved and admired him since. To say that I have a favorite movie would be like saying his acting was only good in that particular movie, and that simply isn't the case. In every movie he has been in, whether it was a "Blockbuster Hit" or not, his has brought a sense of quality and style like no other actor of his generation, or any other, for that fact. When I see him on the big screen, I know I'm going to be dazzled, regardless what the movie is about. His voice is unmistakable and gives me "goose bumps" every time I hear him. Even though I am only thirty years old, I have seen every one of his movies and own them. I wish there was some way I could actually send him a letter to tell him how much I love to see him in movies. But most importantly, I would like to tell him that 6 1/2 years ago I was engaged to be married to a model from Athens, Greece and this person as the only love I had known. He dumped me three days before my wedding. Being from Atlanta, Georgia and growing up in an upper class society, I was more than humiliated, I was devistated. I went into seclusion and spoke to no one, the whole time while I was returning all the gifts. I could hardly get out of bed and I took a leave of absence from my job. I used to watch his movies: Brazil, Mean Streets, Untouchables, Raging Bull,etc. Every time I would watch one of his movies, I felt the pain I was in go away little by little. For that I am thankful to him. I'm not trying to brag, but I was too pretty to sit at home and waste my life and my good heart away on someone who didn't really care. Because of Robert De Niro, I finished college with a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering and even though I'm still single(I'm saving myself for DeNiro) I live a great life in Tampa, Florida, and every chance I get I go to the beach to run and zoom to the theatres every time he premieres a movie. Anyway, I just thought that if he really knew how wonderful he could make someone feel through a bad time, he would be in alot more movies. I hope one day I could get an autographed picture. I probably never will, but at least I have his movies on video. Thank You Robert De Niro, you will always be my hero!! Love, Nancy

The first time I saw Robert De Niro I was forteen years old, it was 1987, I was wacthing "Falling in love", and I fell in love with him, just like that.
