IC COMEDY CLUB NEWSLETTER

Blissful Idiots: Every Thursday @11pm- ch. 13

Hello one and all and welcome to the weekly edition of the IC Comedy Club Newsletter. The purpose of this newsletter is simple - to combine all the emails that the club would normally send out in one week into one newsletter to decrease the amount of email you have to read and remember. In each newsletter we'll have info about up coming stand up comedy shows, Blissful Idiots shooting information and new episodes alerts, along with information on upcoming improv and live sketch comedy performances. Each Tuesday please check your email for the newest information. With out further ado...the news....

STAND-UP SHOWS AND IMPROV

IC Comedy Club presents The Standup & Squat Comedy Hour at the Coffeehouse. Finally, our first on campus stand - up is almost here. It is scheduled for Wednesday September 29th at 8:00 in the Coffeehouse. All people who are interested in doing the stand up routine please email Lee Marren at lmarren1@ic3.ithaca.edu. Please do so as soon as possible for we can arrange a time to get together and rehearse and also organize the show. Any and all are encouraged to do stand-up or a magic routine or some combination of both. For those who might want to be involved in the improv games just respond to the IC Comedy email address. This might be a good way for some of you to get involved if you are little nervous about doing stand-up comedy. But please contact us before Saturday the 25th, because we will arrange a get together time to go over the format and practice on Sunday the 26th. In addition to our first show on the 29th, we also have an open - mic night the following week (Oct. 6th) for those who are interested in doing something a little different. And finally a few days later on the October 9th we have the first show at THE HAUNT at around 9pm. More to come on these events later! Once again those interested in stand-up please email Lee and all others just respond to ICComedy itself.

BLISSFUL IDIOTS

We are still meeting regularly at 7pm on Tuesdays in Terrace 9 - Suite 226 to film skits (that's tonight). The Best of from last season will run one more time on Channel 13 at 11pm this Thursday, Sept. 30th starts the new season!! The first episode is ready to go. We will be having a number of kick off parties to celebrate, the main one being of course in Terrace 9- Suite 226 starting at about nine on Friday Oct. 1st, for all the cast and crew and all interested parties. We'll have food, drink and plenty of fun wacky stuff to do and watch. Mark your calendars now. Are who are at all interested in acting, writing, or producing for the show please respond and let us know (ICComedy@hotmail.com or 375-5457).

ADDITIONAL INFO

WRITER'S MEETING!! We had a number of these last years and they are always a blast. What basically happens is that a bunch of us sit around and try to come up with wacky funny material and then write skits about them. They always seem to turn into laugh festivals though, which creates some of the funniest stuff. So if you're interested in coming and we do need skits, please show up to Terrace 9 -226 this Saturday (9/25) at two o'clock. Of course if you'd rather write stuff on your own, please send it and then see it on the show, But we do need material , so we'll accept anything. If you have any self - plugs you'd like to get in the newsletter please email us and well see what we can do. Also if you have any ideas on fund-raisers or new events the club can take apart in then please email us.
