Based on Frank Herbert's classic science fiction novel Dune, this film revels in the battle over a sacred element within the known universe, the Spice Milagne. The historic detail is surpassed by no other film and the action is as real as watching an actual war back in time! Braveheart is what all films should be. The street smart street junkie Nikita is recruited into one of France's secret government organizations against her will. All records of her say she is deceased. Even a tombstone bearing her name is in place and photographs of her funeral are taken atop an empty grave. If she refuses to cooporate with this organization, they promise to fill her grave. She is then put under extensive training to weild the skills of not only a proffesional assasin, but professional government secret agent. They have chosen her due to her street smart instincts and have given her, in a sense, a new chance at life. But the costs are that she must always work for them, her life is theirs, there is no leaving. After training she pursues their missions, given to her only when the time comes. In the meantime she lives her life as normal as possible untill the phone rings asking for Josephine, her covert name. The beautiful Anne Parillaud plays her part as magnificantly and enthusiastically as she looks creating a film which is both intense and provoking. This film was remade on an American set and surprisingly it maintained its originators integrity. The Point of No Return starring the equally beautiful, Bridgette Fonda, is the remake of this highly acclaimed film.
