Trim Castle - The largest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland. Construction of the castle began in about 1172 but the central tower - the keep - was not completed until the 1220's.... In 1998 when we visited it was undergoing extensive conservation work..... A small part of the movie Brave Heart was filmed there. |
