Biology is a word which simply means the study of life. This field of study investigates all living organisms on the earth, from the sulfur-metabolizing bacteria in deep sea vents to the bald eagle soaring high above the earth in search of prey. Biology encompasses many ancillary fields from biotechnology, which brought about microbial mass production of insulin, to my most adored field of medicine, without which Jeremy Roenick's (a Chicago Blackhawk) knee would have been history and his hockey career over.

So, as you can see, biology affects everyone's lives on a daily basis. This field of study has changed the way that human beings live each and every day, that is why I feel it necessary to promote the most important of all the sciences.
