It seems that many people from outside of the state surmise that Buffalo is
very close to New York City, if not a little known borough of that metropolis. Who would
ever think that my hometown is actually much, much closer to one of the world's Seven
Natural Wonders? Well, it is!
Niagara Falls offers numerous spectacular views, and this
picture shows
just one of them. There is plenty to see and do on both the U.S. and Canadian sides
of the border near the Falls.
And Woodchucks!
Other places to enjoy nature in the Buffalo and Western New York area include:
Tifft Farm Nature Preserve (Bflo), Stiglmeier Park/Reinstein Woods (Cheektowaga), Beaver
Meadow Nature Center (North Java), Akron Falls Park, and Letchworth State Park.
