SACRED
CIRCLE DANCE

Sacred
Circle Dance comes from the tradition of folk dance with the focus being
on spiritual and healing energies and the energies of the circle. It was
first introduced at the Findhorn Foundation by Dance Master Bernhard Wosien.
He collected a group of dances from around Europe and brought them to Findhorn
where he felt that the spiritual essence of the dances could be more appreciated.
Since then the many teachers he taught travel around the world sharing
the tradition and empowering newer teachers to do the same. Many
of the dances are original folk dances and many more now are being choreographed
by the ever growing numbers of teachers and dancers .
In the ancient times
when towns villages families gathered, they would dance together in a long
line or circles. They would do this for festivals, celebrations, weddings,
to greet the return of soldiers from war return of hunters and fishermen.
We have lost this in our society.
With Sacred Circle
Dance no partners or special props are needed. All you need are two feet
even if you have two left feet. The dances are taught step by step thoroughly
until the leader feels the group has it. The music is played and we all
dance as one, as if we knew them forever. When we let go of our minds,
we realize our bodies knew the dances all along.
We will lead you
through a series of dances beginning with simple easy to follow dances
and progressing until we reach fairly complicated dances and you will be
quite surprised at how fast you can advance with the right instruction.
Focus is on the
energies of the individual dance, the group present, the larger universal
dance group, the angelic kingdom, the energies of beauty, grace, love and
healing to aid us in our journey .
SOME QUOTES FROM
DANCERS
-
"Dance with Linda is
like dancing with the elves. She has magic feet and helps me remember these
dances from millenniums ago."
