A possible reason for the good results that the Clubhouse movement is obtaining may be that the participants relate to each other on a peer to peer or adult to adult level, which according to McKenzie in his book Delayed Post Traumatic Stress Disorders From Infancy: The Two Trauma Mechanism. is a prerequisite for speedy recovery, opposed to the child to adult relationship, where the client is seen and treated as a child. This relationship is practiced within both family and professional structures, and is seen as counter productive to the recovery process by reinforcing the infant role / relationship / mind / brain / reality which is seen as being present in the schizophrenic process.
