I, _________________________________ agree by signing this contract to stop child abuse by:

If I am angry enough to take my temper out on a child, I will stop and step away from the situation until I cool down. If I cannot do this by myself I will call ______________________________or emergency contact  _____________________________ and will keep trying to contact someone until I feel safe with my children.

If I witness child abuse I will report it to the proper authorities.

If I know of a child in immediate danger I will call 911 or my local emergency number.

I will not allow a child to be in danger in my home or any situation for which I am responsible.

I will never allow pornography to enter my life or my home.

I will do all I can to learn about the warning signs of abuse or neglect.

If I am a child or teen and learn of a friend in danger or being abused I will tell and adult as soon as possible.
I will realize that it is not "ratting" on my friend to do so but may save their life.

If a child comes to me with a report of child abuse, especially child sexual abuse, I will take the child seriously
and do my best to get the child help.

At no time will I put my family at risk, but will work through the appropriate channels, so that a neglectful or emotionally needy parent can get the support he or she needs.

If a I learn of a child within my circle of friends who is being abused I will  reassure the child that I care.
