Celia Freese

Welcome from 45 miles west of St. Louis. I wondered how long it would take for someone to join from our mid- western neck of the woods, as we are literally next to a 80 acre woods on our 240 acres. I just turned 65 a bit over a week ago, while my hubby, Ray is a 38 year math professor at St. Louis University. I'm in my second year of retirement from teaching in St. Charles County, Missouri, some 31 years.

After putting up 4 genealogies recently, one of which goes back 14 generation, I'm back with sorting through some remaining boxes of school stuff. I'd developed squared paper art projects for my early primary grades, so I'm recreating the free hand samples on a small sized medium from manilla inch, half inch and quarter inch squares to place in a notebook. So far I have redone some 46 already. I never had really counted up what I had gathered together before. I completed the animals and started the season part of my collection. I have structures such as castles, barnes, apartment buildings, bridges, teepees, tents, etc. and several different styles of lettering to recopy. I have already refreshed over 30 years of occasional poetry putting it in writing center form before retiring, as I had access to the equipment at my school. Since retiring I have created 58 topics from a life story writing project that I also put into life story writing format. Check out my site at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/1425

Ray Freese

Greetings.

I grew up in the rural area in Eastern Missouri, attended the University of Missouri from 1952 - 1961, then got a job teaching mathematics and computer science at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, and have been there ever since, including fifteen years from 1971-86 as department head. I'll keep workiing as long as I enjoy it - it's kinda nice to have that option. Part of our family history includes providing care for my mother during her last 16 years of life. On the other end of the spectrum, we have three sons, two of whom are married, with three grandsons and one granddaughter. Celia and I enjoy traveling and do so whenever we get a chance. This includes Elderhostels in the U.S. and other trips to Europe, where we have visited Norway, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Belgium and Luxembourg. We'll be adding Denmark and France to that list this summer.
