HIV & AIDS

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is transmitted by contaminated needles, infected blood, breast milk, sexual contact, and via the placenta from mother to fetus. The virus is also found in several other body fluids.

Every 13 minutes someone is infected with HIV

Every 17 minutes someone dies from AIDS

1 teen every hour becomes infected with HIV

HEPATITIS B

Hepatitis B is is a virus that attacks the liver. It can be just as deadly as HIV. It is spread through contact with blood of an infected person and is also a sexually transmitted disease.

There is a vaccine available for Hepatitis B. Persons who are at risk for exposure to blood or body fluids, should consider this vaccination. Ask your doctor!
