South Strabane VFD has an open door policy and will provide an application to anyone who is interested in joining as a volunteer firefighter.
- Once the application is filled out, You will be notified of when to meet with the line officers to go over your application.
- After you have met with the line officers, you will have to attend the next monthly meeting to be voted on for your probationary period.
- Once you are voted on and accepted you will have 3 months/90 days, from the date of acceptance. to complete a fundamentals checklist. after completion of the checklist, you will be required to take a fundamentals test. and pass with at least an 80% to be issued a pager and be allowed to respond to emergency calls.
- After your first full year in the department, your membership will come up for vote. to become a full member of the department.
