Outside companies offering special discounts to "All about hair"
viewers. I recommend these companies because I have found them to have
great values on professional products and are reputable.
Theres always somewere to go! Try this for lots of curl that last throughout
the evening. Begin by braiding cornrow braids from perimeter of hairline
approximately two tothree inches back, using aluminun foil( made by rolling
three sheets of aluminum foil together, creating a perm rod ) with spray
gel on dry hair wrapping in a spiral effect. Place under dryer ten minutes
on high heat and cool for ten minutes.
RESULTS: EASY,BEAUTIFUL, LONG LASTING LOCKS!
Styling Tips:
First you must start with the right tools to create a desired
look. .
Hair designers use foams, gels, spray gels, liquid gels, etc. for a reason.
Each product is used as a tool the same way they use scissors, rollers,
irons, or a blow dryer.
To Create Volume...
1. If you blow dry your hair...
On clean towel dried hair:
Apply a product designed to create volume (see recommendations
below). Apply it at the roots of your hair and comb through to the
ends(you want more product at toward the scalp than at the ends- this makes
the hair "lift")
When blow drying, use the high heat setting when the
hair is damp. When the hair is almost dry, use your brush to hold your
hair in place and use the cool setting to "set" the hair.
After the hair is completely dry and your style is set, use
a stronger holding hair spray to keep the hair in place.

When it comes to hair, clients either want to pump it up
or calm it down. While hair-straightening gels and balms have gotten a
lot of attention lately, many clients still want and need some volume no
matter what their hairstyle. Given the number of volumizers, mousses, texturizers
and thickening sprays now on the market, one thing’s for sure: Body-building
doesn’t just happen in the gym.
“About 70 percent of all clients need to use a volumizer
because of their hair type, volumizers work for fine, straight and thin
hair and for many combinations such as coarse, wavy, thin hair.”
Volumizers add temporary fullness by putting moisture back
into the hair. Most of them deposit proteins throughout the hair shaft
or under the cuticle. Thanks to advanced technology, volumizers can now
boost hair and provide shine without heavy ingredients that weigh hair
down. “All volumizers vary in strength of hold and form and I don’t believe
that one works for all hair types, to select a volumizer, I break it down
to hair type, desired result and the amount of porosity in the hair.”
When applying a volumizer, concentrate on the root area.
“Some people get hair in place and then spray the whole head with volumizer
,” says Ken Kelly, owner of Rhetta B’s salon in Stuart, FL, “You want to
put moisture back in the hair then create the style.”
After application, you can style your client’s hair several
ways to maximize fullness. “You can set hair on Velcro rollers or blow-dry
with a round brush,” says Cecil Diaz, styles director at DePasquale, The
Spa, Morris Plains, NJ.
To find the best volumizers for your clients, you may need
to experiment. Paul Mitchell Volumizing Spray, KMS’s AMP Volume Amplifying
Spray and Bumble and bumble’s Thickening Spray all have fans. Since letting
hair dry naturally with texture will be one summer trend, let your clients
know that volumizing products will add shine and definition to that look.

1. When you blow dry, use irons or hot rollers, it damages
the hair. Most people wait until the damage has occurred, then purchase
a deep conditioner to correct the problem. There is a much better way,
stop the damage BEFORE it occurs.
2. A good thermal protector will do many things:
Seal the cuticle by "acidifying" the hair (should have a
pH around 3.0)
Add thermal polymers that absorb the heat and distribute
it
Add moisture
3. The thermal protector on the market is Paul Mitchell's®
Seal and Shine. Mist on clean towel dried hair prior to application of
any styling tools.
