Dress: Your therapist will leave the room at the beginning of your session so you may undress and make yourself comfortable on the massage table. Except for the area being massaged, you will be warmly covered at all times. Tell your therapist if you prefer to leave on all or some of your clothes.
Duration: Sessions frequently last an hour or more, but half hour sessions are common for treatment of a specific area, such as neck and shoulder, or legs and feet.
Oils: A light oil or lotion is generally used to permit muscles to be worked on without excessive friction to the skin. Tell your therapist if you do not want oil or lotion or if you dislike scented oils.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

Certain medical conditions warrant written recommendation from your physician before obtaining a massage. Before beginning your massage, your therapist will ask about your medical history. Massage Therapists do not diagnose medical problems, prescribe treatment, or manipulate bones. Massage is not considered a substitute for medical attention or psychological counseling.
