Mother
You are the one who brought me to this earth -
You brought me here through your pain of my birth.
You taught me what courage is and what strength
can be brought forth from love.
You amazed me and inspired me -
You disciplined and guided me.
You were not only my mother -
But my dearest friend - always supportive until the end.
You have always been and you shall always be -
The most loving and inspiring person to me.
I do believe in God, we can only hope it is true...
Together our souls shall meet again -
So I can remind you of how much I love you.
-Love your girl...
Mama – where are you today?
It was your 53rd birthday yesterday…
I am so sorry if I make you sad to see how I miss you,
It’s just that without you I feel so empty, lost, and blue…
I often can not bear the pain and try to think of other things,
But everywhere I look around my mind is filled with what my memory brings…
I see you laying there dying in your bed,
but looking more beautiful than my eyes can comprehend,
I see you looking so lovingly at me,
I keep remembering you there because I never saw your life here end…..
I have so many questions and no answers why..
I think of your pain throughout your life and wonder how you got by..
No one understands how much I have lost – how much of me is lost with you…
No one knows me, loves me, cares for me, like you used to do…
There are days I don’t want to go on – not without you in my life,
There are days I can’t seem to think ahead to get past this strife…..
I hope you are out there somewhere with your parents and Jerry,
I hope you know how much I love you and that you’re still my Mommy!
I miss you more than words could ever say,
I hope you are out there and happy – dear Lord I pray……………………
Mama,
If ever in my life -If Ever...
If ever the sunshine is hindered by haze -
If ever no light can be found in your days -
If ever a beautiful flower doesn't smell as sweet -
If ever you don't feel the strength of your heart beat -
If ever you cease to stop and notice the birds in the sky -
If ever you don't think to question and wonder why -
If ever it seems all colors around you look less brilliant -
If ever you forget to love, to be loved, and love reminiscent -
If ever a day the sunset and moon seem less overwhelming -
If ever a day you forget how it feels to smile and to sing -
If ever - stop, close your eyes, and Remember...
Mama - I Remember
Mama,
I remember - remember you every where I go,
I glance across the airport at stranger's faces - still I see and feel you there...
I remember - remember you smiling with a glow,
I gaze up to the vast blue sky and clouds - still I know you care...
I remember - remember you on all the holidays,
I feel you in my heart as I lay down to sleep each night.
I remember - remember all your thoughtful ways,
I yearn for your touch and skin which always felt so right...
I remember - remember you as I see nature's greenery,
I wonder if where you are - if you feel the same way too?
I remember - remember all the love you passed my way,
I remember - remember you Mama - every, every, everyday!!!
REMEMBERING CAROL AT CHRISTMAS
Mama, your children remember you -
Christmas time brings such fond memories of the laughter and joy you brought,
A gift more priceless than any toy or token, the gift of love, the gift of thought.
Reach out to us and you will see that we still love you, but now from far away,
On holidays, birthdays, sunny warm days, snowy cold days, each and every day.
Love that we shared will keep us always together, giving us comfort that will last forever.
Sister, your brothers and sisters remember you -
Carol we miss you so often, miss just knowing that you’re there,
And knowing that whatever comes our way that you would always care.
Remembering your laugh, your strength, still remembering now that you’ve gone,
Our hearts have once again had to let another piece of ourselves move on.
Look ahead with us in your heart knowing we will truly never be apart.
Aunt Carol, your nieces and nephews remember you -
Christmas brings memories of the sweet things you would do,
And we miss the joy, laughter and smiles we got from talking to you!
Remember the fun times and places that we would share,
Oh the stories you could tell – the things that you could bear.
Life goes on though you’re far away, but we love you just as much today.
Carol, our friend, we remember you -
Crossing paths with you – we can say that we made out to be the winner,
Always kind, helpful, generous, a good listener, and always a good dinner.
Reeling with ideas and creations, with practical jokes, good advice, and silliness too,
On the phone or in person, always there, always doing what you could do.
Laughter shared, times when we were blue, we’re so glad we didn’t miss knowing you.
Dear Daughter, we remember you -
Come now and hear all the love we’ve longed to convey,
Are hearts have been breaking since we went away.
Reach out now to us dear daughter and trust we will always be there,
Our hearts are full now that you’re at home so our love we can share.
Learn again, let your spirit be inspired; know that in your life you were deeply loved.
Shades of blue,
Filter through...
All I do -
Think of you...
Shades of blue,
Days to few...
Lonely too -
Here without you...
Shades of blue,
What do I do?
The pain is still new -
I'll always love you!
FALL
Mama,
Fall remembers a life once lived.
Colorful memories of things we did.
Winds are blowing, rushing time on by.
Yet ceaseless moments creep in to ask why.
Drifting, floating, leaves fall to the ground.
An aching hole in my heart - emits no sound.
The leaves have been forever changed, as have I.
They will seep into the earth hidden to the sky.
Of all these changes – you will not be forgotten.
Lodged deeply in my soul, remembered again.
Death appears painless in the seasons of time.
But to me it’s beautifully cruel, yet so sublime.
Only sweet memories, left to be
Your seasonless beauty reflects on me
Presence left, but not to see
Spirit lightened - eternally free
