My name is Mitchell Davis. I am a registered nurse employed at The University Hospital Of Arkansas in Little Rock. I have worked in high-risk labor and delivery for the entire six years that I've been a nurse. I am one of only two male obstetric nurses that I know of. I have the distinction of being the only nurse ever to perform a major brain surgery unassisted. I fully believe nursing to be one of the most noble of all professions. (By the way, I was just kidding about the brain surgery !)

I have a lovely wife, Carolyn , Carolynwho is my strength and who provides me with a firm foundation upon which I have built my life. I have two brothers, Linwood and Preston. They are both, for very different reasons, my heroes and people I very much wish to be more like. They are both brilliant. Their IQ's go nearly off the scale. Their genius is in vastly different areas, of course, making it difficult to tell which is really the brightest. They are also both crazy. I, of course, use crazy as a fun euphemism for out of their damned mind crazy ! Their craziness is also in vastly different areas, of course, making it difficult to tell which is really the craziest. It also depends on the moon, I think.

Linwood does all the computer stuff for the high school in Helena, Arkansas. In the beginning, he put the entire school on computer using an Apple II-E. Apple said it couldn't be done. If you know what a II-E is you would readily agree. It took a master mind to get it done, but there was no money to buy a real computer at the time. By the way, Linwood has been a teacher in the school district since 1970. In addition to teaching history, geography, civics, social studies, math and several other regular courses, he created and taught classes in motorcycle safety, photography, computers and offset printing.

Preston was never academically inclined until later in life. How he is so literate is something Linwood and I have puzzled over for many years. Preston can fix anything in the world (except horse races and presidential elections.......well, horse races for sure). He has installed, repaired and maintained ice plants which supplied large fishing boats. He has been flown out to sea and repaired freezer units on ocean ships. He has repaired and maintained air conditioning systems in hospitals and 30 story buildings. He also changed my brake pads once for which I am still grateful. Actually, the best thing Preston has going for him is his wife, Cathy. I think when I revise this page, I'll leave Preston out and talk about Cathy.
