he world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers, and cities; but to know someone here who thinks and feels with us, and who, though distant, is close to us in spirit, this makes the world for us an inhabited garden.-Goethe

Hi! My name is April and I am 39 years young "s". I have been married now for 21 years and have a lovely daughter who is 19 years old now (time flies by!) I love to read and find that the library has a good selection of books on tape and large print editions. I like to read mysteries and inspirational stories of the pioneer families. Before I lost most of my eyesight I loved to sketch. Here is a picture that I drew- Jesus Praying on The Mountain I also love to write poetry. You can find a collection of my poems at Heartbeats Poetry Page You can also find my collection of victorian pics and sayings there.

I have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes now for 27 years and have made many adjustments through the years. Although this disease can consume so much of your time and attention, it does not define me as a person. I hope to one day be cured of this disease either through a pancreas/kidney transplant or if we are all fortunate enough for an even simpler cure to be found. The cure is out there and eventually it will be found and refined. Until then I believe that what we diabetics need to do is live life to the fullest extent possible and enjoy the life we have been given. It is also important to find a good endocrinologist. I have been blessed with a very knowledgable and compassionate endocrinologist. I would love to hear from you and hope to have my guest book up and running very soon. You can find my email address on the front page if you would like to tell me about yourself.
