Our Programs

Friends For Friends, Inc. is dedicated to reducing the risk HIV infection among African-Americans in the Washington metropolitan area. Our organization's programs and goals are developed to address the specific needs and concerns of the African-American community.


Aware-a-Condom

A street outreach project from June to September where volunteers distribute pamphlets at Metro rail stations containing: an AIDS awareness ribbon, a latex condom, and the phone numbers to the AIDS information and testing hotlines.

Our Red Cross certified instructors provide HIV education and risk reduction workshops for educational, social, and religious organizations.

Adopt-a-Box

A Christmas season food and toy drive where volunteers "Adopt-a-Box" to collect new toys and non-perishable food for children and families infected with HIV in the Washington metropolitan area.

The Adopt-a-Box campaign begins in November and ends with the annual Holiday Fundraiser.

~ Collected over 100 bags of groceries
~ Hosts an annual holiday party for children with AIDS and their families at the National Capital Children's Museum
