    Background Information:

Friends For Friends is a nonprofit community-based membership organization that began on January 1, 1995 as a group of friends who wanted to donate money to organizations that support African-Americans with AIDS.

While searching for AIDS service organizations serving the African-American community, we learned that HIV and AIDS disproportionately affect the African-American community. This discovery created an incisive spark in the group. Our members decided they needed to do more than give money. They wanted, no, needed to get involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Friends For Friends made a declaration to dedicate its time, energy, and resources to the education and prevention of HIV infection in the African-American community by providing: innovative grass-roots programs, and free HIV/AIDS education and prevention workshops.
