Well, finally, a bit about me. I wrote this website while i was a student of Orthoptics at Sydney Uni. back in 1997... a long time ago. Orthoptics, in case you didn't know or guess, is about eyes, and Sydney Uni is an absolutely fantabulous place to study this subject. This site was created as a learning exercise about deficiencies in colour vision, as well as learning about creating websites. I chose 'colour blindness' for this project after meeting one of my chat friends, who is red-green colourblind. While I have never actually met him in person, I must thank him for helping me heaps about understanding this condition, as well as pointing me in the right direction a number of times.

Since creating this site, I have actually moved on and I no longer study Orthoptics, so I must confess that this is the first time the site has been updated since 1997 (very sad, but true). I am also ashamed to admit that I don't keep up with the developments in this field either, not due to lack of interest, but more because I am now studying Dentistry instead, and am finding it difficult to study two things at once! Therefore, I apologise for not being able to answer any questions in this field. I also cannot recommend any sites other than those links I have provided on this site since these were the best sites I could find while I was creating this page. However, I am quite sure there are a number of excellent sites created since that are not linked to.

I do return to this site occasionally to read the guestbook, and I appreciate the comments from my visitors. It's wonderful to see that this not only got me top marks for the assignment, but has managed to help several people in understanding what colour deficiencies are about, and also helped those who were starting assignments at the last minute! There have been a couple of times where visitors have mentioned that very little was known about me, and consequently referencing has proved difficult. At the time of creation, I was still exploring the internet, and was quite hesitant about disclosing anything about myself. However, I have since worked out that the net is not as scary as I thought it was. So, for referencing purposes, my name is Helen Fung. However, I have found that in my assigments, just listing the address of the website is good enough for referencing.

So once again, I thank you for visiting this site. I hope you found what you were looking for. Again I apologise for not having any more information that what I had at the time, and not being able to keep up-to-date in order to maintain this site. I wish all you students good luck, and happy studying!
