New "Associate Membership" Category

Join AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses) - the organization for RNs involved in patient care pre-op, intra-op and post-operatively. (Operating room nurses are now referred to as perioperative nurses to more accurately reflect their duties immediately before, during, and after surgery.)

At the annual AORN Congress March 10-15,2001, AORN bylaws were amended to include a new category of membership - associate member. An associate member is one who supports the mission of AORN and who is primarily engaged in one of the following professions:  health care industry representative, central service professional, physician, health care administrator, materials manager, informatics personnel, or pharmacist.  Associate members may not vote or hold office on a National level but reap all the other benefits of membership.
