For my own personal mental health, the act of giving of myself to others is one of the most rewarding and calming things I can do. When I have helped someone with a problem no matter how big or how small and I see the happiness it has brought to them, I have the most wonderful feeling of love and happiness for myself. This can be something as simple as getting a Thank you and that is like getting a Hug :). We all need help sometimes and I have always felt that it is better to give than to receive, but when you give you receive so much more for yourself in the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped.
