So you say that you want to stop smoking?

A long time ago you picked up your first cigarette and, maybe with your friends, you lit up. It was daring and fun and you found that it was something that you could enjoy in those secret moments. As time went on you began to depend on smoking to let you take a break for five or ten minutes and chat with other people outside. Maybe you liked to smoke when you are thinking or when you are at the bar. Perhaps it was to pass the time or you think that it calmed you down.

Even though a pack a day habit costs you at least $750 - $1,000 just in cigarettes and who knows how much in other costs, you may have found that stopping is not as easy as starting was. Why is that? Smoking is more than just the nicotine. Smoking is automatic. Smoking involves your beliefs, your behaviors, your habits, your feelings, your relationships, and your very thoughts. Unless you address all of these in a systematic and comprehensive way you will find that something always pulls you back in.

What to do?
