New Zealand changed some laws effective 01 December 1999. Here is a summary:

1. The drinking age was lowered from 21 to 18.

2. Grocery stores may now sell beer and wine.

3. Liqour may be sold on Sunday.

Mr. Hugh Perrott of "Foodstuffs" grocery store chain was discussing the effect of large chain sales on smaller, "mom & pop" liqour stores but his words seem prophetic in more than one way:

"There will be casualties."

I wonder when they will raise the speed limits?
