| Some form of institution for the care of the sick has existed longer than recorded history.The history of postcards is not quite that old.The first postcards were introduced in the USA 1867. Many topics were printed.MY oldest postcard is one of "James Walker Memorial Hospital"in Wilmington,NC.It was mailed and postmarked 1905.It is no longer in existence.It was replaced by a multimillion dollar,7 story facility in 1967.This is where I work |
| My collection of cards dates from 1905 to present.They are of hospitals clinics,nursing homes,rest homes,VA Hospitals,Hospice Care Centers,and all other institutions that house and treat the sick.I have 500+ cards in my collection and would like at least one from every state and major city in the world. |
