beginning the trip along the Banff/Jasper highway
mountains in Banff
glaciers in spring
This is from our June trip, we awoke to 3 new inches of snow!
all of us at the toe of the Athabasca Glacier
Guy enjoying the beautiful scenery
Athabasca Glacier - we spent the night over looking this beautiful ice sculpture
the hotel room was spacious - 2 double beds, hide a bed and table downstairs and a loft with twin beds
this was how deep the snow pack was even after a few weeks of melting!
we stopped at several water falls on the way to Jasper. We hiked 4.5km from the lower to the upper falls at Johnson Canyon, as well as stopped at Sunwapta, and Athabasca falls. I'm afraid I got my pictures mixed up, so you'll have to guess which is which for now
This is an abandoned river channel, that the Athabasca falls used to come through. It's a beautiful path now.
