Gluten Free Dining
- Eating out is always risky ! But manageaable.
- Just because a restaurant has a GF menu doesn’t mean the staff:
  • Knows about the GF menu
  • Will know what on the menu is GF and what is not
  • Knows not to put bread or croutons on your plate
  • Has been trained in cross-contamination issue
- Be particularly careful of fried items:
  • Like french fries, nachos, etc
  • Even if listed as GF
  • Cross contamination of the frying oil is not uncommon
- Talk to the manager and/or chef
- Give them a Celiac Restaurant Card

Dining in Atlanta:

Special Treat:
The Outback in Roswell at 655 Crossville Rd., Roswell GA 30075 (770) 998-5630 is the ONLY location in the US offering exciting new gluten free menu options. These include beer battered coconut shrimp, french fries (or cheese fries), Bushman 'shrooms, mac-n-cheese, Toowoomba Pasta, fried chicken tenders, a burger with a bun AND the world famous Bloomin' Onion! Their regular GF Menu - which is very extensive - will also be available. Additionally, this venue carries three gluten free beers including the Green's brand imported from Belguim! It's a world class gluten free beer and one is enough to share (BIG bottle). The managing partner, Thomas L. Propp, purchased a new dedicated GF fryer so he could better serve his gluten free patrons. He stocks GF pasta and GF buns for sandwiches and burgers.

Please alert the kitchen that I am allergic to gluten. I have Celiac disease which causes a severe reaction to gluten. I CANNOT eat anything made from wheat, oats, rye, or barley. This includes: · Breads · Beer · Pastas · Malt or malt flavoring · Croutons · Many processed cheeses · Sauces or soups thickened with flour · Blue and gorgonzola cheeses · HVP from these grains · Soy sauce (if it contains wheat)· Teriyaki sauce (if it contains wheat) I CANNOT eat foods deep fried in oil used for other food that is breaded or floured. Some bouillon contains HVP that's not safe for me. Natural and artificial flavors can be a problem. Please check the ingredients in seasoning mixes, marinades, and salad dressings.

I CAN eat:· Rice (plain) · Potatoes · Fruit · Soy · Seafood · Corn · Meat · Vegetables · Butter · Corn starch · Poultry · Eggs · Wine · Most cheeses Please be sure that anything made for me is cooked in a separate clean pot or pan, or on an area of the grill that has been cleaned, and that clean gloves and separate utensils are used--I can get quite sick from only traces of gluten. I am happy to accept your suggestions for a delicious meal that I can eat safely. Please feel free to ask me any questions about my allergies. Thank you for your attention to my needs.

If you have additional food intolerances or allergies, make a card similar to the above with your special requirements included.
