The one I love is all I need

To set my heart ablaze

The one I love is the center of

My life in many ways.

The one I love is part of me,

Companion to my dreams

And is the main ingredient

In all my thoughts, it seems.

The one I love supports me through

The challenges I face

And knows the healing power

Of a warm and fond embrace.

The one I love responds to me

My spirits can renew.

The one I love is full of passion

The one I love is you!

Our Creator must have known there would be times

We'd need a word of cheer

Someone to praise a triumph

Or brush away a tear.

He must have known we'd need to share

The joy of "little things"

In order to appreciate

The happiness life brings.

I think He knew our troubled hearts

Would sometimes throb with pain

At trials and misfortunes

Or some goals we can't attain.

He knew we'd need companionship

Unselfish...lasting...true,

And so the Creator answered the heart's great need

With cherished friends...like you.
