Short Term Actions

1. We have integrated a team of students (15 years old and more), which will be involved and trained in every aspect of the use and management of water, they may choose the field they want, sewage treatment, bio-remediation etc. Communication must flow through e-mail: they will be connected to World Water Vision via internet to participate with ideas, but above all to get The Knowledge and all the information they should required to develop their projects. Taking advantage of digital data at the source can even create new business
opportunities.
2. We had a meeting with the Farmers (Pork Breeders) that have already a system to recycle or treat their farms runoffs or sewage waters, in order to find out how they may improve their systems, but also to encourage the others to do the same. (See Contacts). Farmers and producers will participate via internet and will go digital as well. What I'm describing here is a new level of information analysis that enables knowledge workers and managers, to turn passive data into active information--what M.I.T.'s Michael Dertouzos calls information-as-a-verb. In order to improve the way of working, protecting the environment and establishing foreign relation.
3. We also contact the Chief Executives of one of the main Pork Producers Firms (KOWI) that will be a fundamental piece in our program, as they are going to encourage, inform and help the producers to take measures or improve their systems. Getting people motivated to take on responsibility is not a question of organizational structure so much as organizational attitude. A collaborative culture (using digital tools to create virtual teams) reinforced by information flow, makes it possible for smart people all over The World to be in touch with each other, to find solutions.
4. We had a meeting with The Municipal President of Navojoa: Lic Carlos Quiroz Narvaez which gave their Approval and Official Support to the projects, he consider that will be on the benefice of the Region and we are also pioneering in these field for others to follow the example and take the required actions. We will advice them as well as to other institutions that Using Intranet to replace paper forms has produced striking results for everybody and it would be beneficial for the environment.
Long Term Actions.
1. Foreign Investment:

This project will be design to attract foreign investment, people and institutions interested in developing green projects and preserve our environment. Bearing on mind that we will be protecting the interest of the investors as well as the community, therefore protecting the environment we will be fighting against poverty.
We had talks with some people from the U.S.A. that will be willingly help us in this project, finding investors or economical resources to develop and take concert actions to improve our environment.
2. Stone Dikes:

We plan to build up stone dikes in cascade all along the Mayo River to allow the water to percolate and oxygenate, to reduce Eutrophication and kill pathogens. That will be done with the help of the people that obtain gravel and sand from the rivers. And surveillance of the community to evaluate and follow.
3. Reforestation
of all the rivers, canal and water runoffs, to take profit of the resource of water and improve the landscape.
We have to consider that bio-diversity has to be protected, therefore we have to plant trees that could stand the weather condition of the region, and the most logical thing is using the flora from the region.

4. Ponds and oxygenation lakes to process the water runoffs (agricultural)
To reduce water eutrophication by clay and nutrients we recommend to use oxygenation ponds in all the water runoffs particularly those going in tothe sea. in that way we will protect plancton production. And we could make a request of financial support for this task to International Organization, as UN, UNESCO or BID. As The main commitment will be preserving the fisheries and marine reources.

5. Ecological Reservation:

The use of municipal sewage water, treated and transform in agricultural waters to create an Ecological Reservation with ponds, forest, a golf country club, and a zoo, in an area of around 100 to 200 hectares. Which the Federal Government should donate. To develop this project is necessary to obtain the participation of International Organism like BID, etc. We may need to preserve some of residential area to build homes, according to the landscape, that will reduce the cost of the project.
6. ECOTURISM:
".........the best way of fighting poverty"

The last but perhaps the most important part of this commitment, is that we will be promoting these project at international level (The Californian Gulf/Ecotourism), therefore we will be proud of the action we have taken for protecting our environment and the result will be observable almost immediately. Nasa will be helping us to evaluate the damage and follow the improvements, in the Californian Gulf with satellite pictures, as well as the deforestation index. We have submitted our proposal at the beginning of this year.
