Market Outlook

There is a high demand for Equine Massage Therapists because massage aids in preventing injuries, promotes increased health and peak performance. Throughout the world numerous horse owners and trainers have incorporated Equine Sports Massage into their horse's overall health care regimen. All driving and riding disciplines can benefit from the theraputic effects of Equine Massage Therapy. Increased understanding of the adverse reactions and debilitating long term effects of invasive surgical techniques and the constant use of medication has led many owners and trainers to seek alternative non-invasive approaches to horse health care.

Although prices may differ slightly from region to region, the current rate for a theraputic session lasting forty five minutes to one hour, is between 40 and 75 U.S. dollars. Pre and post event massage generally take twenty minutes to perform and range in price from fifteen to twenty five dollars.

Regulations Concerning Equine Massage

Presently there are no Federal or State regulations regarding Equine Sports Massage. Individual State regulatory guidelines may come into effect in the future since the practice of Equine Sports Massage continues to advance. Therasage works with national equine organizations and veterinarians throughout the country to help set the standards for this field. We are confident that the Therasage Equine Sports Massage Certification Program will meet or exceed future standards.
