My Career:

After 20 years supporting Senior Executives is a wide variety of industries including engineering, telecommunications, and health research, I have finally launched my own business, O2S2 - Olsen Office Support Services, providing Virtual Assistance to entrepreneurs who need to focus on generating revenue instead of getting tangled up in administrative details.

For those of you who are concerned about whether you'll be able to work following your diagnosis with Macular Degeneration. I have been enjoying my career fully, and providing effective detailed administrative support, with the use of glasses. If in the future, I have to provide administrative support with the use of screen readers, I will be just as effective, because my ability to work is not defined by my ability to see.

When you're job hunting, it's important to disclose your limitation; however, don't allow your prospective associates and superiors to believe that you're disabled. They will understand that your limitation resulting from Macular Degeneration may simply require adaptive technology. Otherwise, you can do pretty much anything you set out to do.
