So Why Choose Nursing?

As for myself, well I'm 24 years old and decided to go into nursing on a bit of a whim really. Before my training I did a BA in theology at Durham University (St John's College) which I enjoyed very much and did pretty well at (I got a II.i), but I had no idea what to do afterwards. Whilst walking one day in Durham City I was accosted by one of the gypsies who regularly stand out on Framwellgate Bridge selling lucky heather and telling fortunes. Normally I would try and sneak past - a poor student not wanting to part with cash - but on this day she just came for me and I couldn't get away. Anyway, she told me many spookily true things, but amongst the things she told me she said I would have a carreer in nursing. Bizarre I thought - I'd never really considered it before, but the more I thought about it the more I made up my mind to give it a go. I never really believed I could do it - I was laughing at myself as I posted the application form. But here I am over half way there and absolutely loving it!
Please email me with the reasons you decided to go into nursing - has anyone got a more bizarre or less worthy reason than my own?
