My name is ASIM RIAZ. I was born in Pakistan on 25th March. When I was of 3 years, we (my family) moved to Libya. My mother is a graduate. My father is a chemist. He is a man of great knowledge. He has visited more than 50 countries. I am very proud of him. We come back to Pakistan in 1985.
I have no brother, and three sisters. The eldest of us is my sister, Asma. She is a doctor. She graduated in 1994, and married in the same year. Her husband is also a doctor. She is 2 years older than me. Next to her, is Nadia. She graduated in 1992 and married in the same year. Her husband is a businessman. She is 1 year older than me. Now-a-days, they are in Tucson, Arizona. My third sistes, Faiza, is 12 years old. She is in 8th grade.
One of my uncle is in New Jersey. He did PhD in Electrical Engineering in 1991, and is working in Lucent Technologies. My another uncle is in Toranto. He is also doctorate in Physics. One of my cousins is in Pennsylvania. He recently graduated in Computer Science and is working in SCT Corporation now-a-days. My another uncle is in Leeds, UK. He is a barrister. Our family is well educated.
About me
I passed my 10th grade exams in 1989, with 85% and stood second in our school. Then I got admission to the Pakistan's no.1 college, Govt. College Lahore. I studied pre-engineering. After which I got admission in the Pakistan's no.1 university, University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, in 1992. I was admitted to a graduate degree in Civil Engineering. But soon I realized that I did not like it any more. I started taking interest in electronics and computers. I created a number of electronics products and projects. Besides, civil engineering, I got admission in BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) at Allama Iqbal Open Universtiy. I completed my BSc Civil Engineering degree in Feb.98. Then I got admission in MSc Computer Science at Queens College of City University of New York for fall 98 semester. I arrived in US on 19th June, 98. After arriving here, I transferred to New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). These days I am in New Jersey. I have also completed two semesters of BBA at Allama Iqbal Open University. But then I came to US, so till now I am not able to finish BBA.
