KEYS TO WELLNESS
What is wellness?. Wellness is a state of being, a completeness, a state
of good health mentally, physically and spiritually, the absence of disease.
There are many keys to wellness. Some include:
having a balanced diet,
getting the proper amount of sleep,
decreasing stress in our lives,
having a spiritual dimension to our lives,
support from loving friends and family.
WAYS TO INCREASE ENERGY:
Eliminate or reduce the amount of caffeine and simple sugars, ie...(honey/fruit juice).
Satisfy cravings for sweets by the use of whole fruits (apples,peaches and bananas) instead of fruit juices.
Eat a BALANCED diet Processed and refined foods should be avoided.
Make sure you are getting enough Chromnium, B Vitamins and Magnesium in your diet.
Get enough restful sleep. Sleep when you're tired. Avoid taking stimulants during the day: including Caffeine and Energy Products that contain the herb, Ephedra.
Sleeping in a darkened room helps produce sleep.
Also taking a warm bath before sleeping, helps you relax.
Increase your oxygen level by deep breathing exercises.

TIPS TO SLOWING DOWN THE AGING PROCESS
REDUCE YOUR FAT INTAKE
Avoid REDmeat, including hamburgers, meatballs and meatloaf.
NO PROCESSED MEATS: including hot dogs, ham and lunch meat. Instead try tuna mixed with non-fat yogurt, non-fat bean dips/refried beans and vegetarian sandwiches.
NO WHOLE MILK PRODUCTS: milk, yogurt, cheese. Slowly reduce your amount of fat by going from whole milk to 2%, 1% and then SKIM. This should be a gradual process.
NO HIGH FAT BAKED GOODS : cookies, cakes, donuts. This is hard to do with the vast amount of wonderful looking, wonderful tasting but TOTALLY EMPTY calorie goodies. Try to decrease gradually and remember: Just because it says FAT-FREE doesn't mean you can EAT THE WHOLE BAG!!!!!
Instead choose fruits, veggies, whole grains and lots of pure water.
EXERCISE FOR FUN
Do an exercise that you enjoy
Vary the exercise
Exercise 3 times/week for 30-45 minutes each time
TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN
Always wear sunscreen while outside, even in the shade
Get plenty of sleep
Always cleanse skin throughly before sleep
Always use a water-based moisturizer each day
By using some of the above suggestions, I hope you will increase
your energy, eat healthier, decrease stress and live a little longer.
Always remember to use a sunscreen while outdoors, yes, even in the shade! Research has shown that time spent in the sun now while young can have disasterous outcomes in the future like skin cancer. Skin cancer is preventable in this day and age.
