EMS IN LEMHI COUNTY
Lemhi county is a large county in Idaho that borders Montana, the county has a population that is spread throughout the many small towns and many forest service access roads, along with the main road that runs down the Salmon River. Supplying the nees of EMS in the county is one that is done entirely by all volunteer personnel, from the Quick Respose Units located in Gibbonsville in the northern end and Elk Bend in the southern end along US 93. The Salmon EMT'S provide Advance Life Support ambulance coverage throughout the entire county and it is also all volunteer, running some 700+ calls a year. The town of Leadore which is south of Salmon on highway 28 also has a volunteer ambulance service.
