Peppermint ---Peppermint tea is a great digestive aid for the after dinner blah from having too much of a good thing.
Oats ---Surprise! Yes oats are one of the best herbs for 'feeding' the nervous system. It is especially good when you are under stress. A bowl of oats each morning will relax and strengthen you. Eat it in any form (even cookie). The only form that has no benefits for the body is instant. One minute oats are fine. So have oats for the boost you need during the holidays and every day.
For those unfamiliar with essential oils they are great in blends or baths or when used to scent a room. Never leave where children can reach them since they are very concentrated and potentially toxic if swallowed.
Lavender oil ---This
wonderful oil when added to 1/2 cup of milk and poured into your bath will
give you the lift you need after a crazy day of shopping, cooking, or just
holidaying. (Yes I know holidaying isn't a real word but it should
be). Lavender oil relaxes and relieves fatigue and muscle pain.
It also is great when placed in a bowl
of water on the mantle or on top of the bookcase so that the subtle scent
fills the room and brings relief to all that enter.
Almond-Sandello
oil ---This blended oil brings incredible topical relief for headaches,
foot-aches, or any aches that are the unfortunate side effect of the holiday
shopping and preparations. Massaged into aching muscles it provides
relief within minutes. (It is especially great if someone special
massages it in for you!)
For those unfamiliar with flower essences they are the safest forms of herbs. Flower essences are so safe, in fact, that people, pets, children and even plants can use them without worry or harm. They will even work on birds and reptiles if they are your pet preference.
Five Flower Formula ---(found in Rescue Mist, and Rescue Remedy) is perfect to apply topically or take internally when finding yourself stressed, traumatized, or overwhelmed by the 'joys' of the season. It is very effective used topically on children, adults, pets, plants and any living thing that has had too much of a good time.
Indian Pink Flower
essence ---This flower essence taken 2-4 drops on tongue or on the
wrist will help you remain calm and centered in the midst of the chaos
that is part of this time of year. (It also isn't half bad when work
is chaotic.)
