These are some links to a variety of sites I found informative, interesting, or just fun. I hope you enjoy them too.
Medical
I truly don't know if there is a link between fibrous dysplasia and depression. Many people that have the one seem to have the other. On the other hand, I would imagine that the incidence of blue thoughts is somewhat higher in people with ANY incurable disease than in the general population, not surprisingly!
Yeah, after that last set of links, something a little lighter is in order. We need to laugh, too.
The Onion. Fake news with a satirical bent. (And I do mean bent.)
The Corporation. Similar to the above. The Corporation controls all sources of humor production in the world, and most of the rest of the world too. "Working you like the worthless dogs you are..."
Doonesbury Online. One of the best comic-strip websites out there, for completeness and accessibility. The entire 30-year run of this strip is available and even searchable. Even if you don't agree with Trudeau's political leanings, he's created a marvelous little soap-opera world that's fun to visit. (The earlier, less political and more character-oriented strips are better, IMHO.)
User Friendly. An online comic strip, one per day, going back over 3 years. Vaguely like Dilbert, if Dilbert worked for an ISP. (Warning: lots of geek humor. You have to know something about "nerd culture" to get a lot of the jokes.)
Keith Haring Page. The New York "subway artist," whose bright and deceptively simple drawings live on after him.
The Little Prince. If you've never read this book, shame on you! Visit this page and see what you're missing.
Science Fiction and Fantasy Books Online. If you enjoy genre fiction, you oughta like this site. Links to online e-zines of original stories, to publishers who post sample chapters from their upcoming releases, to archives of classic novels that people with 'way too much time on their hands have transcribed faithfully onto computer. All sorts of stuff for hours of happily time-wasting enjoyment!
