We believe that God’s vision for us here in Klaipeda, Lithuania, is to be
vessels of hope for this nation. This is a country that has spent years in
decimation largely due to the impact of foreign occupiers. Hope is needed.
We believe that God has given us
three complimentary strategies to aim towards.
We believe that God wants to use
us to minister to children. We are presently part of a team which regularly
visits a local orphanage. Our serving in the
orphanage includes bringing friendship, crafts and games,
teaching life skills and sharing the love of Christ through our actions and
words.
We believe that God wants us to
minister to sex workers and women and children at risk. We have been
visiting clients in a needle exchange clinic and building relationships with
social workers and people who care about the sex industry.
It is our long term goal to start a night care centre for
the children of prostitutes and children at risk.
We believe that God wants us to
participate in the establishing of a Vineyard Community.
We are presently meeting almost twice every week with a
small group of people who like us are growing with God. We meet during the
week in a kinship group for worship, teaching and fellowship. We meet most
weekends for service, teaching, worship or just for the sake of hanging out.
We also meet regularly with the
leaders of other churches in Klaipeda and other Vineyard churches in
Lithuania.
This vision that God has given
us has grown and diverged over the years and we continue to follow him the
best that we can.
