Welcome!!

to my 9th diary page.

November 11th, last night was our den meeting. We made a barometer and we will be keeping track of the weather with a weather chart. This weekend we will be going to the circus with our den and some of the other scouts who'd like to go also. I know that will be fun because we went there last year and it was a good time. Moms birthday is on the 15th. I will be school but I know she will still have a good time.

November 6th, today dad took Connor and I shopping with him. We were shopping for moms Christmas and birthday gifts. It was fun. We also went out to eat. Mom is going to like what we got her.

November 5th, yesterday was parent-teacher conference. Connor and I stayed at grandma's while mom and dad went to the conference. Mom and dad said that I have done a great job in school and that I can keep doig what I am doing. I am a bit shy in front of the other kids, so I will try to participate more in activities like the other children. The teacher said I do really well in math and my writing skills are really good. I need to keep practicing my reading. I do ok with that.

November 1st, yesterday I went to the mall for trick or treating. I was dressed as a ghoul/skeleton and Connor was a pirate. It was fun and didn't seem to take too long. We also went to a few houses in our neighborhood.

October 26, Yesterday was my birthday. Dad took Connor and I to the movies. We saw Spiderman 2. It was really good. I enjoyed it. This past weekend was really busy. Saturday we went to Zoolie Ghoulie. We took Andrew and his mom with us. It was fun. It went by quick. I dressed up as a skeleton ghoul and Connor was a pirate. Andrew was a ninja. We will be going trick or treating at the mall this year next weekend. Sunday we had my birthday party. Poppy and Rosemary were there as well as my Grandma Penman, Uncle Tim and Aunt Lisa, Joe and Stevie, and Andrew and his mom. It was really fun. I got a lot of neat toys. My cake was yummy too. We will be having a pumpkin contest and get together with the tiger scouts next Saturday. That should be fun.

Happy 7th Birthday to me!!

October 21st, yesterday we had the cake auctionand we made about $600.00. My cake sold for $28.00. That was pretty good I think. There were a lot of neat cakes and cookies. My friend Andrew made a witch cake that looked like the head of a witch. My Uncle Joe will be coming down for my birthday and so will my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Tim. There also is a trick or treat night at the zoo, so I think I will be going there and Andrew and his mom will come with us. My teacher said I am doing better reading. I like to read to my mom and dad and I like to make sentences.

October 18th, in a few days we will be having a cake/bake auction to raise money for our scout pack. I will help mom make and decorate a cake. It should be fun. Soon, we will be having my birthday party. We will probably go to Jungle of Fun and have many of my friends and family. I cannot wait. I will be 7 years old.

October 11th, Happy Columbus Day!!! Today there is no school. Dad didn't have to go to work today. We went for a hike today at Lincoln Memorial Gardens. It was fun. This past weekend was really fun. We went to a fall campout that our pack was doing. Mom didn't feel well, so it was just me, Connor, and dad. We had a really fun time. We got to the campground about 7:30 Friday night. Connor and I played while dad and my friends dad got our tent up. We went and joined everyone at the picnic benches and ate cheese and crackers after dad was finished. We also went on a night hike. We hiked on trail and only the leader had a flashlight. We had to use our night vision. That was scarey, but fun. There was a fire pit and we roasted marshmellows and then played some more before finally going to bed about 11:00. Saturday we had pop tarts, juice, and hot chocolate for breakfast. I didn't want any oatmeal. Then we played for awhile. We took a hike and collected a lot of neat stuff. I collected a few neat leaves, hedgeballs, and a canopy worm nest. Hiking was fun. When we got back it was time for lunch and I ate a sandwhich and chips and drank somejuice. Then we played some more. Dad got out our bats ball and we hit the ball around a few times then when enough scouts were playing we played baseball. That was fun. Andrew finally showed up later in the day. He was sick earlier and was feeling better, however, after supper, he became ill again so he and his mom and dad left to go back home. For supper we had roasted hotdogs and chips. Howard made some neat chili pie in a dutch oven over hot coals, but I didn't eat any of that. For dessert he made apple, blueberry, and cherry cobbler. Now that was good. I sampled all three of them. We also roasted marshmellows and made smores. We also went on another night hike. This time we had flashlights to help us. Sunday, breakfast was the same as Saturday. Dad took a few of us on a hike and then it was time to see about packing up our stuff. I helped dad take our tent down and helped him fold tarps and stuff. That was a lot of work. Dad took a few of us scouts on one last hike. This time we went down by Lake Springfield. There we found shells and skipped rocks. That was really fun. Connor and I found a lot of cool shells. We had a really fun time and I cannot wait till we do it again.
October 3rd,Yesterday I went to Bryar's birthday party. We played and ate hotdogs and cheeseburgers. He turned 7. He is 24 days older than I am. I will be 7 also this month.

October 1st, 2004
Happy Birthday Bryar,your 7!

September 30th, I am really doing well in school. I like reading and am learning math. I read to my parents. We also have den and pack meetings for my scout pack and those nights are fun. We learn stuff and do activites. Bryar has joined scouts too so he has come to a few meetings too. We will be having the fall family campout soon. That should be a funtime.

September 26th, yesterday was such a busy day. First, in the morning dad took Connor and I to the MotherRoad Festival downtown. That was kinda fun. There were a lot of muscle cars and hotrods. He was pretty excited about some guy name Big Daddy who dad says was a drag racing legend. We saw his dragster,it was pretty cool. We also went to see grandma for a short time afterwards. In the afternoon, we went to our "go see it" with the tiger scouts in my pack. Andrew, Austin, Bryar, Connor, and I were the only ones there. It was at the Illinois State Museum. It was really neat. Lots of many animals and things about history of Illinois. I enjoyed it a lot. THEN, we went to Douglas Park to have some snacks and play. What a fullfilling day we had. In a few weeks we will be going on a family campout again.

September 23rd, today is my Grandpa Penman's birthday. He would have been 67 today. He was my dad's dad. I never met him, but dad says he sure would be proud of me. Dad says he use to drive ambulance's and help take care of premature babies like I was. We had a den meeting last night and it was fun. I got a patch for the state fair parade and a pin for summertime activities that I was involved in. Bryar said he is going to join scouts now. He will have fun. This coming weekend we will be going to our first "go see it". It will be at the Illinois State Museum. Now that should be fun.

September 17th, I am reading a lot in school and we are being taught math. I enjoy both of them. I like to read at home to my mom and dad and dad quizes me with math problems.

September 12th, yesterday was really fun. Andrew and his mom came with Connor, Dad, and I. Mom needed to rest so she stayed home. We saw many neat planes in the air and on land. Shockwave of course was really neat. I really enjoyed the night airshow. Shockwave was awesome. Dave and Denise were also there and they bought Connor and I our own t-shirts. That was very nice of them. We also saw fireworks at the end of the show.

September 10th, we went to my school picnic yesterday evening. It was fun like it was last year. The firehouse was there and the school had a paper wall for us to paint on. I wrote my name on it. I also played with many of my classmates. We ate fired chicken, chips, and had watermellon for dessert. This weekend is Air Rendevuez at our airport. Tonite we will go to the night show and on Saturday we will go to the air show during the day. Andrew will also go with us on Saturday.

August 26th, yesterday was my first day at school. It was fun, but short. We got out early.Quinn, Bryor, and Andrew are in my class again along some other students that were in my class last year. My teacher is nice too. Soon we will be having a school cookout and open house.

August 22nd, yesterday Uncle Joe and Stevie came down and we all went to the state fair. It was really fun. We rode many rides and even mom and dad rode with me. We also ate some really good food. yesterday and today dad helped park cars at the lot where our scout pack was parking cars to raise money. We get half of the funds that are raised. School starts up again next week. I will be in first grade.

August 14th, today we are having our neighborhood garage sale. Connor and I sold some soda and juice. We did pretty good and will do it again tomorrow. Grandma came to our house to stay overnight and help mom with the garage sale because dad was at work. Hopefully we will make some good money tomorrow too. Grandpa Tony and Rosemary and Aunt Lisa and Uncle Tim came to town today also. We had a good time seeing them. We also went out to eat. That, of course, was good.

August 12th, 2004
We walked in the state fair parade today. It was fun. Scott, Connor, mom and dad, Andrew and his dad, were among a bunch of us from our scout pack. Even Connor walked the whole route. We saw a lot of people and a lot of neat fair entries. We will be going to the fair to ride the rides and eat some good food. They also have some neat things to see and this year is The Beast. It's a big dinosaur that you can walk inside its' body. That should be neat.

July 25th, yesterday dad took Connor and I to the PACK 352 summer picnic at Lincoln Park. It was fun. We made a fish aquariam with a cereal box, glue, sand, shells, fish, and little trees. July 12th, yesterday mom and dad had to take me to the emergency room because I stepped on glass outside and sliced my great toe. Dad said I should have had my shoes on and that is why he tells me to have them on when I play outside. I guess he was right. It wasn't too bad. Just 4 string bandaids and they didn't hurt too bad.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!!!"

July 3rd, have you ever played in the mud? No, I mean really played in the mud? Well, Connor and I did today. We swam in it actually. We then proceeded to spread it on our faces and on our chests. Did I also mention that it was raining too? Well, dad had to spray us off with the hose before we could come into the house. It sure was fun. Tomorrow is the 4th of July and we will be going to see the fireworks downtown.

July 1st, dad took Connor and I to see Home on the Range. It was alright, but towards the end of the movie we both were getting bored of it and decided to get disorderly. Connor was climbing all over the chairs and I was following him. Dad gave us a couple of times to straighten up but we wanted to play instead. So, dad had had enough of us and we left the show. We did, however, go to MacDonalds for supper. We stayed and got to play at their playground.

June 27th, yesterday dad took us to see Scooby Doo 2. It was a good movie and we all enjoyed it as well as the popcorn. Dad says he would like to take us to see Home on the Range also.

June 15th, yesterday Connor and I lost the priveledge of riding our bikes for a week. Dad let us ride our bikes to my school and on the way back home we didn't stop at the corners and wait for him.

June 10th, last night was the finale of our 3 day scout camp. There was a fire bowl in which this was a place where we did skits, sang songs, and the dens were handed out their awards. I won a bb gun patch for scoring 25 or better. I also got a bullseye during the archery. We also received our day camp shirts. It was really a fun filled three days. I will do it again next year. This Saturday our pack will be having a car wash to raise some money. It should be fun.

June 8th, yesterday dad took me to scout day camp. It was fun. I learned how to shoot a bb gun and shoot arrows with a bow. We also made a color wheel and hiked around the woods. It was very fun and mom took me today and will take me tomorrow. Connor has been staying at grandmas.

In honor of our family, friends, and all our veterans. Happy Memorial Day!!

May 30th, yesterday I participated with the Camp Butler posting of the flags. It went very fast and it was neat to see so many packs there and the sea of United States flags. I also went to my friends birthday.Happy 6th Birthday Andrew!! It was held at a bowling ally and we all sure had fun. I bowled pretty well. I placed 2nd place out of 8 in the both games. We played 2 games. Our friends, Quinn and Briana were also there. As well as Andrew's cousins. I told mom and dad I would like to have a bowling birthday party.

May 22nd, Connor's scout buddy uniform came in and we went to go get it on Thursday. It is cool. A gray hat and gray shirt both with the little scouting buddy emblem on them. There are some scouting functions planned for the upcoming weeks that we hope to get involved with. Flags at Camp Butler, that's when in honor of Memorial Day, the scouts go and set flags at the gravesites of all the soldiers there. There is also a car wash planned, and the day camp that I will be going to.

May 19th, tonight was our last pack meeting of the year. I got my first belt loop. The fishing one, for learning how to fish at the family campout. I also got to see all the scouts move up a rank. This years tigers moved up to wolves and the wolves moved up to webelos, and the webelo 2's moved up to the boy scout rank. We had 4 that moved up to boy scout rank. My cousin Jesse was one of them. Good going cuz! It was neat seeing the crossing over ceremony for all of them. Uncle Tom said I am getting a head start on scouting because I am doing things now and my official first year starts in September. Even Connor enjoys scouting. He should be getting his scout buddy uniform soon.

May 10th, This past weekend was the Pack 352 family campout. It was really fun. We went on Saturday morning and came home on Sunday morning. Grandma stayed with our dogs. Andrew and his parents we also there. I learned how to fish. I got in 4th place in the fishing contest for biggest fish caught. I caught about 6 fish that day. Fishing is fun. Dad said I learned quick. I also learned how you can cook meals in aluminum foil packets. We made our own lunch packets. We had potatoes, green beans, hamburgers, and hotdogs to choose from. We slept in a tent and stayed up late. Dad took Connor, Andrew, and I on a hike. That was fun. Mom and dad decided that we all enjoyed camping so much, that we will go more often.

May 7th, yesterday evening I was invloved with our kindergarten class first musical pagent. There were also 1st and 2nd graders in the pagent. It was fun.

April 26th, yesterday was the Lincoln Pilgrimage and it was a fun time. Connor was there and so was my friend Andrew. After we were all together at the Korean War Memorial, we started our walk to the Lincoln's tomb. Once there, our pack sat in the grass and we waited until our guest speakers talked and then the march to the capitol started. Ex-governor Thompson was one of our speakers. The march was fun. It did not take a long time at all. Even Connor marched, but not for very long. Once we got to the capitol, we were given our patches and we met at Aunt Monica's van for snacks and drinks. Our next big function will be the family campout.

April 25, 2004

April 22, yesterday we took Connor out to dinner for his birthday. Then we all went to my first official pack meeting. They had some guest speakers who spoke about organ donation. Afterwards, the scout leaders passed out pins and patches to those scouts who had earned them throughout the last few months. I saw many scouts and Andrew was there too. I even got a recruitment patch for recruiting Andrew and Bryor. This coming Sunday will be my first offical outing as a scout. We will be marching in the Lincoln Pilgrimage to the state Capitol. This will be the 59th year that the scouts had done this. Should be real fun. There is a family campout planned for Mother's Day weekend, flag posting on Memorial Day,and day camp sessions in June.

Have a great and wonderfull Easter!

April 10th, lots has been going on these days since my last entry. School is going well and dad has been able to go to burger buddy day with me last Friday and will be able to go in May too. Grandma came too last Friday. We have been enjoying the park and playing outside with Bryor and Dana. I have also become better friends with Ashley and her friends who live down the street. Easter is tomorrow and we will be going out to eat and going to my aunts house for egg hunting and fun. We already hunted for eggs last weekend at Enos park. That was a nice day and we had fun.

March 7th, Dad took Connor and I to the park and we had a picnic. It was very windy, but it was not very cold. We had some good food and then had fun playing. I have been riding my bike outside now that the snow is gone. Later this week at school, I will be going on a field trip. In fact, we have two field trips this month.

February 30th,yesterday was possibly the last blue and gold night I went to as a regular person. Meaning next year's blue and gold banquet I might actually be a part of because I will be in cub scouts. It was a funtime. This coming May, I will be able to sign up for the scouts.

February 15th, yesterday was a fun day. I and Connor went with dad to get some Valentine's stuff for mom. When we got home she got up and got to see what we got for her. She was really surprised. Dad got her 2 chocolate oranges, a heart shaped balloon, and his famous hand written card to her. Most of all, she enjoyed the diamond earrings that he got her. They look very pretty on her. Good job dad! Later that night, mom and dad went out on a date and Connor and I went to grandma's. We stopped at McDonald's and had some supper from there to take with us.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
To my favorite girl, my mommy! I hope you enjoy your special day. Love, Scott

February 5th, today dad and I went sledding. Dad was off because the college was closed and and he didn't have to instruct his students. It was fun, but it sure was cold.

January 24th, wow, long time since I last posted on here. In the last few weeks I have been sick with an ear infection and also battling a cold with the sniffles. I weighed in 47 pounds at the doctors when I went to get my ear looked at. I mom and dad also had a conference at the school and they were told that I will not need to be in any special speech therapy sessions. The teachers said that I am doing better than I was a few months ago. My teacher also said that I am the number one person when it comes to doing school work on the computer. How about that? I also get little incentives for reading so many books and doing so well in school. Dad recently changed my room around. Now my bed and desk are in two different places. It is pretty neat. Today, dad, Connor, and I took grandma shopping. It was ok. We went out to breakfast and lunch. Well, Connor didn't do lunch because he stayed home in the afternoon. I found out that this spring I will be able to sign up for cub scouts. I will start out as a tigercub. My Aunt Monica will likely be my den leader too and Tom the scout master. That will be neat!

Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope you have a safe and fun holiday season.~Scott

December 24th, today is Christmas Eve and this evening we went to my Aunt Monica's house for dinner and presents. The presents were the most fun. I got some leap pad books. We had good food and fun. Grandma was there as well as Tom's daughter's and baby Iassic. I even watched the Santa tracker on Jesse's computer. This tracker is a way you can watch to see where Santa has been and where he is headed. It is really neat. I also got to see BJ's sister and Charlies mom, Miss Chloe. Also got to see Charlies sister too. All those cats are so cute. Tomorrow, my poppy and Rosemary, Uncle Tim and Aunt Lisa will be coming to my house for Christmas and presents. It should be a really fun day.

December 20th, dad took Connor and I shopping with him. We were buying gifts for mommy. She is really going to like what we have picked out for her. Christmas is just around the corner and you know we saw Santa at the zoo recently when we went to see the Christmas lights they had out.

December 17th, last night Connor through a plastic Clifford the Dog ornament at me and hit me on my eyebrow. Mom and dad had to take me to the emergency room where I had to get 3 stitches. The care was really good. The doctor was really nice and funny, but boy did it take forever to be treated. Dad said it took 3 1/2 hours. My ear is feeling better.

December 13th, today it is snowing. Dad has updated my diary pages. There is a new CONTENTS PAGE. There you can click on any pages within my diary. We have new pictures also that dad will hopefully get on here. Yesterday I went to the doctor to get my ear checked out. Sure enough, I have an ear infection. I am on medicine and also I was given pain relief drops to use. Today already my ear feels a lot better.
