I am excited about
getting together in Frederick, MD again for our upcoming spring meeting on
Saturday, March 19, 2005. Our region has come a long way since we first met
in Frederick
in October 2002! We have come to
know each other so well and bonds have formed that will last a lifetime!
Looking back at our
first dinner meeting in Frederick, one twin
wrote that coming to Frederick
was "the most positive thing I have done in over a year since the
death of my twin brother". Then she said, "You have given me the
hope to reach for life again. I hope someday that I can reach out to
someone as you have to me."
I hope that all of you
will consider putting a day or two aside to experience the encouragement,
love and support of other twinless twins as you continue along your
difficult journey. If you are coming for the first time, don’t worry about
walking into a room of strangers alone. I promise you that we won’t remain
strangers for long! Just ask our regional twins who have already begun to
experience the healing that comes through being with other twinless twins.
You are not alone.
Our meeting will be held
again at the Hampton Inn in Frederick,
MD. in
the Ft. Detrick Room. The address is 5311 Buckeystown Pike. The manager and sales staff are excited
that we are returning again! Please
remember to thank the employees at the Hampton Inn for all they do to make
us feel at home. For those who plan
to spend the night we have a block of rooms that are being held for $84 a
night plus tax which includes a deluxe breakfast. Their phone number is 301-698-2500. When you call to book a
room identify yourself as being with "TWI" room block. These rooms will be held at the above
rate until February 25.

Between lunch and

fifty blocks of preserved 18th and 19th century buildings make up the
Frederick Town Historic District. There are many options:
The Community Bridge-
This is a MUST see! I saw it last time and plan to see it again! A
community transformed a plain concrete bridge into the painted illusion of
an old, ivy-covered stone bridge. You can check it out at

The Historical Society
of Frederick
County Museum
The National Museum of
Civil War Medicine( www.civilwarmed.org)

Many opportunities for
shopping for antiques and unique gifts

been there before can check out information in the Destination Frederick
Brochure that you received at our meeting. I will be bringing more of them with me. All the directions to the above locations
will be handed out on Saturday morning.
Sunday, breakfast will
be on your own at the hotel. Then it will be time for all the "twin
hugs" until we meet again!
