Xanax
Not Your Enemy
xanax pills - generic alprazolam does not have
a word stamped on it, just a score (break point)
I
spent years being bashed for using - nay, needing! the only medicine
that ever worked to take away panic attacks and actually, truly,
improve my quality of life.
In
ten years - it was always the same, a struggle to find a doctor
who wouldn't treat me like filth every time I was given a written
prescription. Sometimes they didn't even trust me with that -
instead preferring to call it in to the pharmacy themselves. I
felt like I was in a spotlight, like one of those Nazi warcamp
scenes where the "victim" is under a harsh light, nasty - stick
up their butts - doctors circling around them like buzzards, judging.
Mocking. Belittling. Doctors did it to me. Pharmacists did it
to me. The pharmacy clerks did it to me. My friends and family
questioned me.
My
stress level over having to take a medicine that caused my doctors
to act like they were prescribing me heroine made me feel like
a horrid, awful loser.
I
was told I was going to get addicted to it. I was told that's
it not really used that often anymore. I was told to switch to
Buspar. (My new psychiatrist literally snorted when I said my
family doctor had me trying Buspar again, he said he never prescribes
Buspar for his panic disorder patients because it doesn't work.)
First
of all, I never got addicted to xanax, in fact, research indicates
that nearly nobody with panic disorder abuses xanax (...and that's
the type of addiction your doctors are referring to - abuse.)
I'm not exactly sure why - maybe it has something to do with how
much we hate taking medicine anyway - maybe it has something to
do with feeling like vagrants for using it. (Gee..thanks for the
self esteem boost, doc!) Oh, and Buspar? Not even approved by
the FDA for treatment of panic disorder. It to me, and many others,
was a waste of our time to even try (let alone shell out the money
to try it.)
Do
you see the book cover over there to the left? My psychiatrist
wrote that book. My whole perspective is changed. I can't believe
how snowed over by my family doctor I was - no, wait - I can't
believe that someone with "MD" behind their name can be so ....
stupid!? and snowed and ... mean sometimes.
I
can't recommend Dr. Granoff's writing enough - if you are fortunate
enough to find yourself in the situation where you can become
his patient (he can help you no matter where you live via phone
consultations, although located in VA) - you will not regret it.
I want you to give his book a trial - I think it could change
your life - and you know me, I do NOT endorse ANYTHING - I am
highly suspicious of media snowjobs (being in the business of
public relations) - and I question everything - I will add links
to his writing as soon as I possibly can. But I urge you to purchase
his book. You will find yourself in there. And you know what I'm
going to do?
I'm
going to find write a fact sheet for you to print and take to
your doctor. A list of questions I want you to ask him. I want
you to be strong, and I want you to never stand down when it comes
to what is best for YOU and your panic recovery!
Stay
Tuned! Lisa
I
am no way being reimbursed or benefitting from recommending this
book by the author - I just want to give you good information.
