COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Your Smile: The goal of cosmetic dentistry is to turn an average smile into a terrific one. We can create a beautiful smile by solving each specific problem one after the other. So even if you weren't born with a beautiful smile, you can still have one. Through advances in modern dental materials and techniques; the shape, color, and alignment of your teeth can be improved to give you the smile you've always wanted.

(A) Comprehensive dental treatment for ideal appearance and function - Smile design and makeovers

(B) Teeth Whitening: Did you know that cosmetic bleaching is a safe effective way to lighten stained or discolored teeth? We use a strong but harmless chemical to bleach your teeth and it can be used in the comfort of your own home.

(C) Porcelain veneers: Porcelain laminates are all white, thin ceramic shells, which fit precisely onto the faces of prepared anterior teeth.

(D)Bonding: Long lasting Tooth-Coloured Fillings

(E)Natural looking and feeling implant restorations to replace missing teeth

PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY

Prevention:And early detection are the key to avoid costly and painful dental treatment. Prevention begins with the control of plaque and calculus, the main cause of decay and gum disease. Please see our sections on Dental Decay , Brushing , Flossing. and Toothpastes

Sealants

Highly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your chewing teeth, sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic "coating" is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively "seals" the deep grooves where decay is most likely to start.

ORTHODONTICS

If your child has lost most of their baby teeth, we recommend that they meet with us for an orthodontic consultation. We use the most current orthodontia methods in our office. Most patients wear braces for only one to two years. By the way, orthodontics aren't just for kids, adults are discovering the benefits of having a better bite and nicer smile too.

GUM TREATMENT

While seldom painful and frequently free of any obvious signs or symptoms, periodontal disease can progress, undetected, to the point where supporting bone is destroyed. With 80 to 90% of all teenagers having some form of gingivitis (inflammed gums) and 75% of adult tooth loss for people over the age of 35 due to periodontal disease, early treatment and prevention is essential. While periodontal disease is caused by plaque, a number of other factors including poorly fitting bridges, badly aligned teeth and defective fillings contribute to the development of this condition.

An integral part of maintaining your teeth for life is the removal of plaque and tartar on a regular basis. The frequency of your visits is based upon your individual needs and oral health. During your visit we will update your medical history, check your teeth for cavities, review oral hygiene instructions, and monitor your periodontal (gum) condition.

Please see our section on Bad-Breath (Halitosis)

EXTACTIONS / ORAL SURGERY

The goal of modern dentistry is to prevent tooth loss. When a tooth cannot be saved, extraction (removal) of the tooth may be the only course of treatment. Most minor surgeries are performed at our facility.

Wisdom Teeth (Third Molars):

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to come in. They may not erupt, or emerge from your gums, until your late teens or early twenties – if they erupt at all. Most often, they’re impacted, or trapped in the jawbone and gums, usually because there’s not enough room for them in your mouth. Our jaws are smaller than those of early humans who needed larger jaws and more teeth for their tougher diet. In fact, wisdom teeth often do more harm than good, and their removal might be recommended.

RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

Restoring Damaged Teeth: Unfortunately, teeth damaged by decay or injury will not heal like most other tissues in the body. They require an artificial material to replace and restore the damaged tooth structure. Please see our sections on Silver Fillings and Composite Fillings

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

If a tooth's pulp (nerve and blood supply) becomes infected or inflamed, root canal treatment may be the only way to save the tooth, short of removing it. Root canal treatment consists of removing the nerve as well as infected tissues that lie within the root/s of the tooth.

CROWNS / BRIDGES

A "cap", "jacket" or "crown" will restore a broken, heavily filled or cracked tooth to its original size and shape. This may also be recommended after root canal therapy has been completed as the tooth tends to become brittle and is more apt to fracture. Crowns can strengthen and protect the remaining tooth structure and improve the appearance of your teeth.

A non-removable bridge can restore your teeth to normal function by replacing missing teeth. It will improve the entire health of your mouth by keeping the surrounding teeth in position and can also help maintain the structure of your face and jaw.

DENTURES

Many people believe that once they have dentures, they no longer need regular dental care. Denture wearers require regular exams to ensure their health, comfort and appearance. Gum tissues are in a constant state of change. Periodic relining of the dentures may be necessary to ensure a tight and comfortable fit.

TENSION HEADACHE & MIGRAINE RELIEF

Migraine pain may be caused or intensified by the muscles under your scalp! It starts as a sleep disorder of intense jaw clenching - happens when you clench your jaw muscles 14 times more intensely than normal. Studies confirm that people who suffer migraine pain and chronic headaches clench their jaw intensely, mostly at night. Muscles that are stressed during the night set the stage for: Migraine headaches & Tension type headaches

By preventing the parfunctional contacting of the canine and molar teeth (which is required to generate significant nocturnal muscle contraction intensity and jaw joint strain),a new device called the NTI-tss , prevents/reduces the muscular component of migraine, chronic headache and jaw disorders. With daytime use, The NTI-tss system takes advantage of the naturally protective nociceptive trigeminal inhibition reflex which maintains relaxation of the powerful temporalis muscles.

For better understanding of this concept please refer to our sections on Migraine, Bruxism & The NTI-Tss System.

IMPLANTS

A remarkable procedure, implants can replace any or all of your teeth. The implant becomes integrated with the bone and acts like a "bolt" which will ultimately support a new tooth. The advantages of implants for patients with dentures are: denture stability, increased patient comfort and confidence.
