My History with UC/LC After suffering for 8 weeks with uncontrollable diarrhea, and losing 32 lbs., I was diagnosed in April, 1998 with a rare form of colitis: Lymphocytic Colitis. Not having any success with several medications, I found help with 2,400 mg. of Asacol daily. I also took Cholestyramine for a few months. This is a cholesterol lowering drug that also helps UC. During bad flares I took low doses of Lomotil. I have been off all medication for 4-1/2 years and I am in excellent health! There is a strong possibility that my LC was caused by a medication I took in early 1998. I consider myself extremely lucky. Check my links page for the web sites that have been a big help to me.
