General Features in C.O.P.D.

Chronic bronchitis shows no specific x-ray findings. The x-ray may be normal or may show central bronchial wall thickening.

Emphysema will feature a barrel shaped chest (increased AP diameter of thorax), a flat diaphragm, pulmonary overinflation, increased radiolucency, loss of vessel markings and bullae.
