Neoplasm

Clinical presentation:

A 28 year old woman with fever that she notices at night and some weight loss.

Features in Image

There is a density lying behind the medial end of right clavicle and right first rib ( part of the 'Lawyer Zone' ). Its lateral margin extends above the clavicle, marking its posterior location. The ribs appear intact. The usual mediastinal boundaries are undisplaced.

General Features in Neoplasms

Primary neoplasms are sometimes visualized as tumor masses. Secondary signs include atelectasis and consolidation. Hilar enlargement is common with mediastinal spread, assessed by C.T.

In metastasis to the chest, the lesions appear hematogenous, the lungs are commonly affected, there are multiple masses or nodules and possibly lymphangitic carcinomatosis.

Diagnosis

Hodgkin's Disease direct lung involvement.
