Who we are

The Injured Workers Association Inc. is a non profit organization and meets monthly at a city venue.

The IWA was formed by injured workers as a support and self-help group. The members feel that by staying in touch and networking everyone can be kept up to date on changes to legislation and other procedures so their individual rehabilitation and return to work can run smoothly.

The Association regularly has invited guests to speak on issues relevant to injured workers. A recent meeting had a prominent politician in attendance.

Members regularly attend medical and other appointments to support an injured worker when the spouse or other family members can't attend. Having someone along for moral support is a great help.

Injured workers backgrounds are diverse and although every injured workers situation is different, support and help can usually be found by talking to other members. When questions can't be answered the IWA will contact the relevant Organization and get the issue clarified.

The IWA is involved in educating the community and publicizing issues affecting injured workers.

The group is lobbying all levels of Government, political parties and other private and public organizations on issues which concern the welfare of injured workers.

A newsletter is produced monthly to remind members of meeting times and keep them up to date with group activities.

The Injured Workers Association can be contacted through the Chairperson, Mark Moore-McQuillan on 8384 6373 or the President, Colin Visser on 8255 8117, please don't ring either number before 9:00am or after 8:00 pm.
