Hanover

On 30 June 1863, Major General J.E.B. Stuart, on his way to rejoin Lee's Army, stumbled onto some Yankee cavalry and drove them back through the town of Hanover. They were going into retreat until Gen. Farnsworth's brigade backed them up and then attacked Stuart successfully. Stuart them attacked him until Custer's cavalry came to reinforce Farnsworth and Stuart's cavalry was forced to ignore the Union cavalry and continue to Pennsylvania state.
