Having a Healthy Dose of Awareness after having Silicone Implants myself. I've tryed to put together this website in hopes of educating others.

I had Silicone Breast Implants following a mastectomy in the early 80's. It was one of the worse choices I have made in my life. And I must add that it was an uninformed choice. Women were not given the information or concent forms that they offer today.

Along with thousands of others, I was not warned of any dangers, and only told of the wonderful, new technology of todays world and how wonderful I would look. I went through multiple surgeries due to capsulations, and ruptures and even tried the so called "new safe" Saline Implants, only to have the right side rupture one year later. I then made a smart choice despite my surgeons warnings, and still unaware that Saline was not safe, I had everything removed! No more surgery for me! (or so I thought) About six months later, I found out that the capsules were not removed and I was back into surgery once again. Now I hope to have most of the silicone removed, altho it is in my lymph nodes and I live in fear of where it will hit next.

Once being a completely healthy woman who was active in dance, and gymnastics and owning a business of my own, I was slowing declining in health and having to make carreer changes to the point of not working at all for long periods of times that I was to learn later, were called "flares". I was told by doctors that nothing was wrong and I thought it was just my system and/or the flu, or or that I really was going crazy. Then, I called a halt to this merry-go-round of surgeries! And I became aware of the dangers (Many Thanks to Jenny Jones show) As I found out, the more I was shocked and horrified and wanted to get the word out, that others may not suffer the way I or my family had.

Being a single mother of three children, and grandmother of four, who has multiple disabilities, I almost always find life challenging and unpredictable. But it is also quite adventurous and can be satisfying. The people I've met while advocating and educating are wonderful, creative, caring, and loving. My parents (may they rest in peace) always made things easier by providing support and reminding me what else I have to give in addition to caring for my children. I believe that information gives us power, relieves stress, and can make us happier, healthier people. This Website exists to provide support in an informative way. The bulk of info has to do with health and legal issues of Silicone and Saline Implants and for those of us that have special questions and needs, though you'll find other issues like other Toxic Issues, and some fun things also. I hope to provide the information you find helpful.
Please sign my guestbook before you leave and bookmark this page to come back from time to time to see updates.

I dedicate these pages to my children, family, and friends; without them I wouldn't be nearly as strong.
And a special thanks goes to my dear friend Marge, who has patiently helped me to learn some basic HTML codes..without her, this page would not exist...
