What happens in a session?
During a session the Alexander practitioner will help you to
experience and learn the principles of the Technique. Most
people experience two things — a release of unnecessary
muscular tension and a growing sensation in the spine and body.
Verbal explanations and instructions gradually encourage you to
learn the technique and apply it to yourself.
Sessions are tailored to each individual need.
Chair-work, table-work, stretches and movement are all used
to help relieve tension and pain, increasing self awareness,
and improving body use.
Many of our health and emotional problems reflect the pace
of our lives and the tension that we hold in our bodies.
An Alexander session allows time and space to release these
pressures. It is a non-intrusive technique which allows your
body and mind to restore some of the natural flow and balance
of which it is capable.
